Every day we perform a multitude of tasks - many of which we do mechanically - but are still necessary.

However, some actions can make a difference in someone's life. The woman who is the subject of this story is an excellent example of this: with a small gift, she helped make someone's life a little better.

Michelle Hada Santiago is a clothing store clerk who went well above and beyond her duties as an employee.

An elderly man had entered the shop where Michelle worked and had asked one of the other clerks if they had any old or defective shoes they could give him. Unfortunately, the store's policy would not allow for this. The old man was walking dejectedly away when Michelle intervened.

Michella saw that the elderly man was down on his luck and was dressed very shabbily.

In particular, his shoes were very worn out, visibly battered and well beyond "redemption". After finding out what the elderly man had asked for, Michella said to him: "You will get some new shoes."

Michella decided to personally buy a pair of shoes for the elderly gentleman, attracting the attention of some of the customers who were present in the shop: these customers, having witnessed the scene, were so moved by Michella's generous act, they had decided to contribute to the purchase of the shoes! One customer photographed Michella (as can be seen in the top photo) and published it (along with the story) online.

The photo touched many people: a show of humanity and charity that made a real difference to someone in need. We hope that this touching story will encourage others to reach out to those who really need assistance in life.
