Our editorial staff carry out Fact-Checking duties on a daily basis, i.e. the verification of the news and other topics covered, aimed at confirming the validity of what is to be published.
Our Fact-Checking work starts with the evaluation of sources: to gather news and other information, we use credible sources that are generally recognized as reliable and/or subject-matter experts. We distance ourselves from any sources that use sensationalism to produce news reports that have little or no value.
Comparing sources is another method we use to test the veracity of our news reports: it is not sufficient for a site to state something as factual - we need to be sure that multiple media authorities report on the same facts in an objective, non-partisan manner.
We rely on one of the most famous, independent, external services for evaluating reports based on reliability, and we are proud to be able to confirm that we have always received excellent feedback from their evaluations.
We want our readers to have the opportunity to confirm for themselves the veracity of our articles, which is why we often provide links in our articles to studies, research, investigations and/or other authorities which we used as information sources.
All this does not mean that we will never make mistakes: Fact-Checking is a complex activity and is not error-free. To fulfill our aim of providing true and accurate information, the contribution that users make themselves can be extremely valuable: if there is an error in our articles - be it a typo or erroneous data - we are happy to make any necessary corrections when notified. For this reason, we have drawn up a "corrections policy" which, in short, allows anyone to report an error by sending an email to m.renzi@psycode.it .
