Diana Donnarumma Kreher is a young bride who has moved thousands of people because of her tenacity and her gratitude towards a young woman who allowed her to continue living with her lifelong partner. Struck by a serious illness that prevented the healthy functioning of some of her vital organs, Diana's life hung in the balance while she waited to find the right donor. As if that weren't enough, just before they heard this unpleasant news, the couple had already prepared everything for their wedding, fulfilling a dream that would finally come true for the two lovers.

Around the same time, Heather Donnelly, a young American girl died in a terrible car accident, which was caused by another car traveling at high speed while escaping from the police. Thanks to an immense act of love and generosity, Heather had decided to donate her organs if something happened to her. Miraculously for Diana, the small intestine she needed was compatible with that of the young girl who died in the accident. Not only that, but thanks to the donor's generosity, eight more lives were saved.

After the operation ended in the best of ways, Diana couldn't be more grateful to finally have a new chance. “Every day, I live my life trying to honor this amazing person who saved my life,” Diana said on social media.

To show her immense gratitude she contacted Heather's father, Daniel Donnelly, so that she could personally thank him for what his daughter has done for her. After speaking with the donor's dad on the phone, Diana realized how similar she and Heather were. In fact, Heather was only a year older than Diana and, like her, she was engaged and would soon be married.

Daniel, however, after living a wonderful life with his daughter, had only one regret: not being able to accompany his daughter to the altar. Diana, however, had an exceptional idea that warmed the hearts of thousands of people. The bride offered a very special role to Heather's dad for her big day: "I asked Daniel if he wanted to accompany me to the altar on my wedding day," Diana said. "After a moment of silence and reflection, he confessed to me that he would be honored. Shortly afterwards he burst into tears" concluded the bride.

In short, every wedding is special in its own way, but Diana's will certainly be remembered because of her exceptional nature. A moment which honored Heather and her gesture which saved Diana's life and gave many other transplant patients a second chance.
