When an animal enters our lives it's as if we are adopting a new family member. This means that, albeit with the necessary differences, our beloved dog or kitten will be, for example, like a child for us. Illnesses or other types of accidents will make us jump and worry terribly, because we know that the health and well-being of that animal depends exclusively on us. When Debbie Petranck coudn't find her puppy in the garden, she was petrified for a moment. Where had her beloved little dog Zeus gone? She searched far and wide for him, unsuccessfully, until one day, after 2 long years, someone called her with good news: Zeus was safe and sound, and he was waiting for his old mistress to collect him!

Whether a dog gets lost or runs away from a garden, it's more common than you might imagine. You should always keep your eyes open, but even the most attentive and conscientious owners can have a moment of distraction and find themselves deprived of their greatest love. Debbie Petranck did everythign right for her little dog Zeus, a nice cross between a Pug and a Boston Terrier, but for who knows what intertwining of events, her four-legged friend suddenly disappeared. The woman, a resident of Ocala, Florida, was very desperate when she found out and she immediately went after him.

Unfortunately, despite having searched the neighborhood and the surrounding area, the woman was unable to find her dog. At the time, she didn't know that this sad separation would last for two long years. Each week, she ran an ad in the local newspaper, hoping someone would bring her beloved little dog back to her, but the months went by with no good news.

One day, after 24 months, Debbie received an urgent call from the "Friends of the Dearborn Animal Shelter" team, an charity shelter, that confirmed that her little dog Zeus was in ... Detroit ! 1600 km away from her! Apparently, the little dog had lived the whole time in the company of a man who had accidentally found him in Florida and was convinced he was an abandoned dog. The man then moved to Michigan with Zeus but apparently the dog ran away from his new home again and ended up in Detroit. And that's when the shelter team tracked Debbie down via the microchip Zeus had implanted under his skin.

The moment of their meeting was very emotional. Debbie drove to Detroit and she admitted she had a lot of anxiety about it - she feared that Zeus wouldn't recognize her after those two long years of being separated. But it wasn't like that: her dog, as soon as he saw his old mistress, threw himself into her arms, desperate to be reunited with her. Debbie broke down in tears, she finally could hug her puppy again!
