If we have a pet dog at home, we know very well that, despite its four legs and its "lack" of speech, this living being is capable of giving us infinite emotion: affection, pure love, loyalty and gratitude. For this reason, when we hear stories of abandonments and "enforced" euthanasia of these poor animals, our heart strings are pulled and we always get a tear of anger mixed with emotion. The story we want to tell you today speaks of a cruel abandonment.

One man decided to have his two dogs euthenized because of his partner; a statment that apparently seems to be incredible, but it is true; since his fiancée was particularly allergic to dogs, this man decided to get rid of them despite them being part of his life for 10 years. The poor Cosmo and Sam, the two dogs, were eventually entrusted to the Begin Again Rescue, who did not accept the request of the cruel owner, but let them live in their shelter.

Pending joint adoption, Cosmo and Sam were subsequently entrusted to the Peoples Animal Welfare Society in Tinley Park, Illinois, who found a human family that immediately fell in love with the two elderly four-legged friends.

Now, Cosmo and Sam live under the loving roof of the couple comprised of Eric and Tiffany Dybas. They spend all their time together, as they did when they lived with their previous heartless owner. At the end of the story, the two 10-year old dogs got what they deserved: love and affection, and the sacred right to continue living.

We wish you a very long life, Cosmo and Sam!
