Going to a restaurant and finding a hair on your plate can be really annoying and unpleasant. But finding an insect in a meal is infinitely worse. A passenger who was flying from Mumbai to Bangkok on a certain airline claimed that he found something very unusual in the meal he was served. It is true that the food served on commercial flights are not haute cuisine, but one would expect them to be edible at the very least. Let's see what happened:

Nikul Solanki was traveling from Mumbai to Bangkok on Air Vistara when he noticed something disgusting on his food plate: a cockroach in the middle of his rice. The flight included this meal. The unfortunate event was intensified by the fact that Mr. Solanki published photos to Twitter proving his claim. The airline promptly responded that all meals served by Air Vistara were prepared "with the highest standards of quality in mind".

In addition, the company also claimed that it was not a cockroach, but a piece of pan-fried ginger.

Here is the company's response to Mr. Solanki: "We would like to clarify the situation regarding your complaints about the meal served on the flight from Mumbai to Bangkok. The item was sent to a laboratory and analyzed. Based on the reports, we can confirm that the object in question was a piece of stir-fried ginger. At Air Vistara, we leave no stone unturned to ensure the highest standards of safety and service."

The laboratory report with the results of the analyzes, however, were never sent to Mr. Solanki. Meanwhile, users posted comments that ranged from amusing to outraged: "You should thank them for the extra protein" or even "What impeccable service!". How would you have behaved in this passenger's shoes?
