The birth of your first child is a joyful event that forever changes the life of the mother and father of the new born who will come into the world. Whether it is a boy or a girl it does not matter, the happiness of both parents is palpable and full of expectation and expcitement. Especially for a mother, the one who during the fateful 9 months of her pregnancy literally carries the baby in her womb and who then has to give birth with the help of doctors, nurses and midwives.

A pregnant mother's journey is a long, very intense and bumpy one, which ends at the end of the nine months with a little pain and suffering, but which at the end of the "journey" brings one of the greatest joys that can be experienced: giving birth to a child of your own!

One of the most delicate moments in a future mother's life is the act of childbirth, which must be lived through with dignity and respect for her privacy. This anonymous woman felt her dignity had slipped away and her privacy been violated, when she revealed on Kidspot her horrible experience with her mother-in-law at the time of giving birth to her first child: "The birth of a first child is usually an occasion that is remembered with affection, but my experience has been clouded by someone else, and in a way I still can't believe. I'm talking about Kylie, my mother-in-law.

She always listened to me, she helped me when she could, she was perfect, but she did an unforgivable thing that has now caused cracks to appear in our relationship. In the last stage of labor up to the delivery of my baby, unbeknownst to me or my husband who was focused on what to do to help me, my mother-in-law was taking pictures on her phone; she had a collection of images starting from the anguish on my face as I pushed, up to the moment where little Sam's head was coming into the world ... "

The woman continued the story: "It's not something I wanted to happen, it's not something I gave permission for and it certainly wasn't something I ever wanted to share with others. But that's exactly what happened. In fact, the only reason I found out what happened was when my brother came to see me the next day and shared his message from Kylie with me a few hours after Sam arrived. There were several images of the birth, with very intimate details.

This was completely and utterly humiliating for me. My husband was as shocked as I was and asked his mother about what she had done. When we met in the hospital, my husband asked her to show him how many people she had sent those photos to; she had done it not only with relatives but also with her circle of friends! For a few weeks I didn't want to talk to her or see her, I was too angry. Eventually I calmed down enough to let her see her granddaughter; when she came in, I asked her, "Why did you take these pictures and then share them without asking me?" She said she didn't realize she was doing something wrong and if she had realized she would neer have done it. She apologized for the pain she had caused me. We made peace but our relationship is no longer what it used to be. I will certainly never let her into the delivery room again! "

How would you have reacted if you were this mother, whose privacy had been violated?
