We would really do anything for our children, thinking about our "adopted" four-legged children. When we have an animal in the house, we treat it not only as a simple pet, but as a real rfamily member to whom we wish all the good in the world. One thing that Richard Wilbanks, a 74-year-old man from Florida, could testify to. In order to save his little dog's life, he took on a fearsome lake alligator with his bare hands!

The strange event happened when Richard was having fun with his loyal Gunner, a beautiful example of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They had gone to visit Estero lake, part of a natural area overlooked by video cameras. Everything seemed to be going well when an alligator suddenly emerged from the surface of the water and grabbed poor Gunnar.

Richard couldn't believe it, and if he hadn't acted with skill and a great deal of courage, the dog might have met his maker!

With only the brute force of his hands and arms, Richard grabbed the crocodile's jaws to try to open them and let poor Gunner get free. The little dog managed to escape from the croc's ferocious teeth, all thanks to the strength and desperation of this 74-year-old man, who showed strength and courage truly rare for his age. The camera images were released by the Florida Wildlife Federation.

But it is absolutely true that we can accompllish amazing feats to save the people, or animals, we love.

Although Gunner was slightly injured, the dog is now fine, as is Richard, the author of a heroic act to be remembered in the annals of the history of friendship between men ... and dogs!
