Love is a feeling that knows no barriers, no age, race or even species. This great emotional, mental and physical state that unites all living beings can manifest itself in truly unexpected and uncontrolled forms and ways. There are people who always manage to fall in love with the "wrong type", others a little more unusually, can tell of having had sentimental experiences ... with animals...yes, you read that right, with animals, just as happened to a Belgian woman who is doing the rounds of the web.

Her name is Adie Timmermans, she lives in the Belgian city of Antwerp and for weeks she has believed that she has fallen in love and has a romantic relationship with Chita, a specimen of chimpanzee who has lived in the zoo of the European city for at least 30 years. Adie said, with some emotion, that in recent times, particularly in the last four weeks, she had gone almost every week to the zoo to spend time with Chita the chimpanzee, whom the woman obviously met at a distance, through the glass which separates visitors from other primates.

The woman she went to visit him every week and through the glass that separated them, they exchanged kisses, greeted each other affectionately and tried to get as close to each other as they could. Unfortunately, the zoo of the city of Antwerp, after four weeks of frequent visits, has decided to ban the woman from the place permanently.

Shocked by the decision, the Belgian woman said with emotion and a hint of eccentricity: "I love that animal and he loves me. I have nothing but him. Why do they want to take him away from me? We are in a relationship, it's just exactly that. Dozens more visitors can easily come and spend time with these primates, so why not me? "

In fact, it seems that the choice to ban the woman from visiting Chita the chimpanzee has a scientific and behavioral reason; as the Antwerp Zoo said in a statement, "When Chita is constantly busy with visitors, the other monkeys ignore him and don't consider him part of the group, even though this is important. Therefore he often sits alone outside visiting hours. Simply, an animal that is too focused on people is less respected by its peers. We want Chita to be as much a chimpanzee as possible. "

And frankly, we don't blame them!
