Before you let anyone perform any type of cosmetic procedure on you, make sure you have done your research first. It's always a good idea to check reviews and find out if the place you are planning to go to is safe and meets all industry standards. Otherwise, you may be putting your health and appearance at unnecessary risk.

Jami Ledbetter knows all too well the risks of not doing your research. She learned the hard way that even a simple microblading procedure can go wrong.

Jami couldn't have been more delighted when her children surprised her with a gift certificate to get her eyebrows microbladed. Microblading is a tecnique that's very similar to getting your eyebrows tattooed, the biggest difference is that microblading is only semi-permanent. In microblading, the ink is inserted in a layer of skin above the epidermis, causing it to disappear over the course of two to three years.

Tired of coloring in her eyebrows every morning, Jami was excited to give microblading a try. She couldn't wait until she had her first appointment, especially after seeing the results that other women had that went to the same esthetic center. Her dream quickly turned into a nightmare, however, when she had a look in the mirror after her procedure was done.

Instead of having two eyebrows, Jami now had four! The results were nowhere close to what she was hoping for, and now she has to live with with them for the next 2-3 years. Don't make the mistake that Jami made. Even if it's a gift from your kids, make sure you always do your research before getting your eyebrows - or any semi-permanent procedure - done. You'll thank us, and yourself, later!
