Not everyone who chooses to have a dog also chooses to take care of it properly.

We still cannot explain why some people take the trouble to get a pet, considering their lack of interest in keeping it healthy. Not to mention those who abuse dogs and cats for fun.

Pedro's story, a puppy dog found in a smoldering car in a shopping mall parking lot, has a happy ending only thanks to the prompt intervention of a policeman who managed to rescue him, despite everything.

In Lakeside, Colorado, local police found a puppy dog inside a car exposed to the sun.

The temperature in the car had reached almost 124 °F (51 °C) when a policeman promptly shattered the car window to rescue the puppy.

The rescue of the animal was filmed by the police agents to document poor Pedro's suffering who was clearly in serious condition. In fact, he could no longer breathe and pant.

Pedro was immediately taken to a nearby vet, who said that probably the prolonged lack of oxygen had already caused irreversible brain damage to the poor little dog.

At the time of the rescue, the owner of the dog had approached the police yelling and cursing because of the damages inflicted on his car.

The man, a twenty-three-year-old identified by the name of Aaron Marlow, was not worried at all about his dog's condition and continued to rail against the police agents until he rushed to his car and tried to escape.

After a brief chase inside the parking lot, the police managed to catch the criminal and take him to the police station.

It is never safe to leave an animal in the car alone and considering the temperatures that can be reached in the summer, such forgetfulness could prove fatal for our four-legged friends.
