Even if the most enthusiastic early risers will never admit it, everyone has experienced that handful of minutes of unconsciousness that happens every morning between awakening and total lucidity.
The vast majority of us end up lying there for a few minutes staring at the wall in front of the bed, trying to get the brain moving so that we can at least drag ourselves to the bathroom.
Sometimes, however, the situation we face before awakening can really work against us! Imagine, that you are already poised between sleep and waking, and you see your partner dressed as a bear drinking coffee at the window. Stuff like that is enough to make anyone think they are losing their mind!
