In Monterrey (Mexico) there is an animal shelter for big cats that is also dedicated to taking care of all those animals that have been abused and mistreated in zoos, and by trainers in circuses and both legal as well as illegal. 

This video shows the reaction of the lioness Kiara at the sight of her adoptive "father" Adolfo. When the man tells the operator to open the gate --- for a moment the worst is feared but then we witness this beautiful and happy scene.
