We are well aware, that in the world there are people with a questionable sense of humanity, but when we are faced with cruelty for cruelty's sake, we cannot help but remain incredulous.

This is what happened to Malissa Sergent on 25 August 2016, while on her way, like every morning, to work at a primary school in Kentucky. Along the way, she saw a large black garbage bag in the middle of the road, and she realized immediately that it certainly did not contain garbage.

To her amazement Malissa realized that the bag was moving, and that what was in the bag had heard her arrive and was moving towards HER.

Heedless of the risks she was taking, she realized she had to intervene by untying the knot and opening the garbage bag to free the prisoner -- whatever it was!

Needless to say how shocked she was to see what was inside ... an adorable, docile, and very lucky puppy.

As soon as he was released, the little puppy welcomed Malissa as if he knew the danger he had escaped and that he was now safe.

Malissa took the little puppy to the vet and as imagined there was no microchip! But at least the puppy was in excellent health!

Malissa posted the puppy's story on Facebook trying to get news about the owner, but to no avail.

In any case, Malissa and her children had already decided that the puppy had earned the right to be a part of their family. They named him Hefty and after a few days of playing games and cuddling, they had already left this disturbing experience behind them.
