In the past, women were mainly seen as people who were destined to become mothers - women's wishes and ambitions were not taken into account, as their prime purpose was seen as being procreation and reproduction. Fortunately, this kind of thinking seems to be on the wane these days - at least, in some parts of the world. It is not uncommon, in fact, to hear from many women these days who are adamant not to have any children. Lorella Palmer, a 22-year-old from London, is among those women who states they have no intention of becoming a mother. Given her young age, many wonder if this choice is only temporary, assuming that one day, the desire for motherhood will return to her.

Young Lorella Palmer has declared that she "does not like" children and does not want to become a mother. But, on the other hand, she does not criticize those who choose to become mothers. Lorella was very clear: "I don't criticize those who have always dreamed of being a mother. It's a very personal decision and that's why I hope others respect mine. Children are very annoying for me - they annoy me in every sense".

Many users, however, have not been able to hold back from criticizing the choice of this young woman: "It is obvious that one day you will regret it - when you are old and find yourself all alone in the world". But why does one you have to have a child just to feel less lonely? Lorella Palmer has responded to those who criticize her: "Nobody should be born into the world for the simple purpose of supporting and taking care of their parents as they get older - it would be an empty and meaningless purpose for life". Even Lorella's father is not enthusiastic about the fact that the young woman and her boyfriend do not want to have children: "I am my father's only daughter, and he would like to become a grandfather - but I am the only opportunity he has. However, my position on this is very clear: having children is certainly the lowest priority in my life at the moment."

Lorella wants to focus on her career, she wants to have fun, travel and have financial stability, without having to worry about taking care of children and their needs (going to school, playing sports and everything else). "For many of you, the most important thing in life is to be a mother. But for me, the most important thing is to NEVER become a mother because I love my independence deeply," concluded the young woman, certain of her lifestyle choices. And is it not the case that we should not be judgemental of the choices and decisions of others?

"It's my life, it's my body, it's my decision," said Lorella decisively.

What would you like to say to Lorella?
