What would the world be like if there were no children in it? They are the apples of our eyes, the result of the desire and love of mum and dad and small, and they are vulnerable, little human beings - yet at the same time, they are so intelligent, curious, and courageous that we could never do without them - especially when they make themselves the subjects of acts of extraordinary affection, love and absolute loyalty to their family. And this is a bit like 2 year old Brandon, the little subject of this incredible story of a family rescue.

This two-year-old boy saved his family from being burned alive while they were asleep in their beds and had completely failed to detect that there was something very wrong in the their house. At around: 4:30 am, Brandon woke up in his bed and noticed that something was not how it was supposed to be - there was smoke and scorching heat in the air, so he ran to wake up his father and mother, Nathan and Kayla Dahl, who unfortunately had recently tested positive for Covid. And what with having Covid, they had temporarily lost all their taste and smell - and for this exact reason, they had not perceived the smell of the smoke from the fire that was getting closer and closer...

If it hadn't been for the two-year-old at that moment, who knows what might have happened?: "He tapped me on the feet in bed and, as he was coughing, said to me: 'Mom, hot. Mom, hot!' I turned and took a good look in the direction he was pointing and all I saw was the flames just the other side the open door. Fortunately, "hot" was one of the few words my two year old had added to his vocabulary! ", Kayla said.

Not only thanks to Brandon, but also thanks to the evacuation plans pre-prepared by Nathan - who was himself a firefighter - the whole Dahl family made it out safely from the burning building. The entire house was lost, yet Nathan and Kayla feel very grateful that they survived, despite the tragedy of losing all their material possessions: "If it wasn't for that guardian angel of my son that morning, I don't know where we would be now. I don't think Brandon understands at all the impact of what he did, but he's enjoying the flood of community attention now. If we go to the supermarket or gas station and someone recognizes us on the news, they pat him on the back and try to shake his hand saying to him things like: 'You are a hero! I am so happy to meet a hero! "

We would like to salute Brandon directly: Dear Brandon, you may be only two years old, but you are already a budding hero. Thank you for saving your wonderful family's life!
