Seventy-one years after the invention of the first microwave oven, it has become an appliance that is now found in almost every kitchen.

Ensuring its success is the speed of its method of heating and cooking food, but certainlyalso its significantly reduced size when compared to those of a traditional oven, and consequently, also its more competitive price.

Yet, decades after its diffusion, it still hides some secrets! Are you ready to discover them with us?

 1. Frothy milk

What is the easiest way to make frothy milk?  Simply, shake the milk carton for 30 seconds then pour it into a microwave-safe container, place it in the microwave, 30 seconds at 500 Watt.

 2. Well-cooked bacon

First place two paper towels on a flat microwave-safe plate, then place the bacon strips on the paper towels; then cover with another paper towel and place the plate in the microwave for 2 minutes at 500 Watt.

Another way to prepare bacon is to place it on an inverted microwave-safe bowl, cover it with a paper towel and let it cook in the microwave for one minute at 500 Watt.

 4. Egg strips

Beat an egg in a bowl and pour it on a flat microwave-safe plate, which you will then place in the microwave oven for two minutes at 500 Watt. At this point, take the plate out, cut the cooked egg into strips and ... enjoy your meal!
