Nowadays it seems more and more difficult to accept one's appearance without resorting to tricks and subterfuges or without being the victim of prejudices about one's aesthetics. The reason lies mainly in the fact that society has imposed aesthetic standards, willy-nilly, to which you have to adapt if you don't want to spend most of your time defending yourself from malicious looks or insults. Obviously, the best way would be to accept yourself as you are, without worrying about external judgment.

A young woman posted a video on TikTok where she proudly displays her beard. For her it can't have been easy to suffer the constant criticism of those who have said "you look like a man", but she managed to take the blow and to give a life lesson to those who criticize her.

"You look like a man" is just one example of the many insulting comments this girl has received on social networks and face to face for a long time. The woman shows in a video the hair on her face - hair that we can actually define as a "beard". This excess hair is caused by so-called polycystic ovarian syndrome, one of the most common endocrine disorders in women of reproductive age. Polycystic ovaries causes hirsutism, among other symptoms, which explains the abnormal presence of hard, coarse hair on this young woman's chin.

"I have polycystic ovaries and my body produces more male hormones. That's why I have excess hair such as facial hair," the girl explained several times to her followers, in an attempt to curb negative comments.

The girl also explained several times how she tried laser hair removal at the age of 18, without, however, being able to resolve her condition. In short, it's not that she hasn't tried to eliminate the aesthetic problem at the origin, but today, after a few more years of experience, she has learned to accept herself as she is, and she suggests to all other women and girls out there do the same.

"I accepted this and I am happy, shaving my beard is part of my daily routine", said the young woman, but she also added: "Girls, you are much more than your facial hair. Just because you have a beard does not mean that you can't feel sexy or attractive. "

Many internet users have greatly appreciated the sincerity and freedom of expression of this girl. Furthermore, her testimony will hopefully be a beacon of hope for all those young women who face this type of problem. The best advice is to try to be authentic and genuine, without necessarily having to go along with the expectations of others: are other people's opinions more important or your own?
