The return to class for kindergarten and elementary children is always traumatic when the summer ends and the month of September begins. Many of our children never feel ready to start again on the path and daily rhythm that sees them pass at least half of the day at a school desk, in the presence of classmates and the teacher. Jennifer Birch Pierson, a teacher from Texas, thought about how to make the return to school more carefree.

Jennifer Birch Pierson is a preschool teacher from the state of Texas, in the US, and like so many teachers across the country, she is preparing to return to school with all the complications and fears related to the Covid-19 pandemic still in progress in most of the country. So the little students, in addition to having to keep a safe distance and having to wear a protective mask to avoid contagion, will have to deal with this new school reality.

The teacher, to make the return to school more relaxed and welcoming, literally transformed the desks of her kindergarten class into little trucks and colorful cars, where the protective screen became part of the fun as an imaginary windshield. Obviously, the images published on Facebook immediately made the rounds of the internet, receiving applause and being shared.

A brilliant and colorful idea to turn the return to school in pandemic times ... into a game!
