Coronavirus knows no frontiers, ages, religions or any other barrier, and today there are many cases of contagion and death all over the world. From Palestine we get a very moving story that speaks of the deep love that united a mother and son. Jihad Al-Suwaiti is a young man of about 30 years old who climbed to reach the window of the hospital room where his mother was hospitalized, every night for a whole week. The doctors prevented him from entering because the woman, already suffering from leukemia, had contracted Covid-19.

The safety protocol and the restrictive measures implemented by doctors, however, did not stop the young man who, while keeping his distance, wanted to continue seeing his mother until the last moment. Every night Jihad climbed the outer wall of the hospital, until he reached the window of his mother's room, as he wanted to feel close to her at such a sad time. Dying is a horrible thing and dying alone is perhaps even more so. The woman, 73-year-old Rasmi Suwaiti unfortunately didn't make it: the virus took her.

The young man was very close to his mother, especially after his father's death 15 years earlier. The young man's loving gesture moved millions of viewers on the web. Although sooner or later we will all face the loss of a parent, it is always a painful experience to go through, especially when it happens too early.
