Mosquitoes are attracted to humid places, yes, this is true, but also to the smell of our skin, exposed without defenses to the attacks of these hateful insects.

In fact, when we want to be in the garden that we have dreamed of enjoying during the winter months , it suddenly becomes the chosen place for mosquito attacks; and the nights turn into a nightmare.

How can we decrease the presence of mosquitoes in a natural and safe way, inside and outside the home? The answer is simple --- coffee! Let's see how.

There are many repellents for mosquitoes available on the market; however, most are chemical preparations whose prolonged use is not recommended, or if they are natural, they can be expensive. An alternative way, very easy to try, to keep the mosquitoes away from the internal and external environments of the home involves the use of an ingredient present in virtually all kitchens, namely, coffee grounds. It is a natural repellent, recommended by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)  - and whose power has been confirmed by various studies, since 2003. Below we propose a very simple way to exploit all the repellent power of coffee grounds.

First of all, take the coffee grounds and place them on a plate covered with aluminum foil; then keep them in a cool and dry place until they are completely dry.

At this point, you can put the plate on the table or on a balcony and fire up the coffee grounds until they start to smoke. Coffee grounds burn slowly and for a long time creating an environment that makes mosquitoes stay away!
