When temperatures become warmer and nature wakes up, new "guests" show up in our house, putting even the nerves of the most ecologically conscious people to the test!

We are talking about ants, those tireless and unstoppable workers who seem to know no obstacles to their slow but inexorable progress towards food.

If you, like us, hate to use invasive chemical insecticides both for animals and for the home (we remind you that many powders are toxic also for children or pets), you can opt for these nine totally natural solutions.

  • Mint: Scattering dried and crumbled mint leaves in places where ants transit frequently can cause the ants to leave the area. Mint tea bags are also suitable for this purpose;
  • Vinegar: Pungent or strong odors are often annoying for these insects. Just spray a solution of pure white vinegar in the corners of the house mixed with a few drops of eucalyptus oil;
  • Salt: Spread salt near the anthill or access points to your house;
  • Spices: Paprika, cloves, and chili powder are excellent deterrents, always when used near access points;
  • Cucumbers: Many believe that the ants hate cucumbers, try putting some peelings in places where they transit more often;
  • Oregano: Create small piles of dried oregano in the most infested areas, remembering to change it often to keep the aroma strong;
  • Laurel: With their strong odor, Laurel leaves are used to keep ants away from food: just put some in the pantry;

  • Cinnamon and coffee: Creating a barrier of cinnamon sticks or coffee beans on their most frequented paths, will serve to discourage them;
  • Do-it-yourself detergent: Since ants hate strong and sharp odors, try washing the floors with a mixture of water, vinegar, and lemon essential oil. This mixture will make the environment very inhospitable for ants!

These tips do not guarantee that all the ants will disappear forever, but they will surely prevent their presence from becoming unsustainable and above all ... these tips will do it in an eco-friendly way!
