Pilate keratosis is a disorder with unknown causes that can help us identify gluten intolerance

Any extraneous presence on our body has a reason why it has appeared and to which we must give the right importance!

In fact, many of you would consider bumps on your arms or back to be harmless if they do not bother you and are not particularly noticeable.

Actually, this example, of our reaction to these bumps, demonstrates that is a good idea to investigate symptoms even if they seem insignificant! If you also have these bumps, then here is what you need to know!

The medical term for skin that looks like a plucked chicken (chicken skin) is keratosis pilaris. These bumps appear in the presence of a condition of inflammation in the body.

Therefore, the cause of keratosis pilaris is that some part of the body is suffering from inflammation. It could be caused by food intolerance, for example, with respect to gluten proteins. Many people do have celiac disease but they still have a hard time digesting this complex protein which triggers a state of inflammation in the body.

If you have this type of bumps, it is advisable to obtain more knowledge about your health condition.

You can also try to see for yourself any improvements by eliminating from your diet all foods containing gluten (wheat, rye, barley, oatmeal, and kamut, for example). The difficulty found by anyone who is partly or totally intolerant of gluten is also eliminating all those processed foods that contain flour, such as:

Milk preparations (powdered milk, condensed milk, drinks containing milk, soy, or rice)
Stock or broth cubes
Candy and sweets

The list of foods containing gluten is very long and in the case, that the diagnosis is confirmed, you will be required to eliminate them from your diet.

If you suspect you have a gluten intolerance, you probably also have these other disorders:

Abdominal pain
Diarrhea / Constipation

Do not forget that food intolerance is just one of the causes of keratosis pilaris, which can also be due to:

Asthma or allergies
Vitamin A and essential fatty acids deficiency
Hormonal swings (for example during pregnancy)

A blood test will remove any doubts! Therefore, get a blood test so that you can return to living well and also eliminate that unhealthy looking skin chicken.
