A puppy is left in a car in the sun --- the police intervene drastically!

Summer months are particularly problematic for pets and not just due to the fact that the number of abandoned pets increases. There are also frequent episodes in which careless owners leave, "just for a moment", their dog or cat in the car during their absence.

The laws governing this behavior are different in each country; however, in any case, the general attitude goes in the direction of unanimous condemnation, since it is considered to be animal abuse. 

In the USA, police officers are authorized to use force to open a vehicle to rescue any animals locked inside.  Do you agree with this authorization?
