Since their invention, photographs have played a very important part in the history of the world. Photos serve as historical testimonies, as well as immortalizing a special moment in one's life. And over time, the ability to take photos has become accessible to all.

Nowadays taking a photo is very simple - as is editing it - but in the past, this was not so simple and you even had to pose for inordinate amounts of time for a photo to come out right. Predominantly in black and white, old, vintage photos are fascinating and represent valuable memorabilia. Have you ever found any particular old photos, perhaps in the attic or in your grandparent's house?

A disturbing detail...

Well, this happened to Lynda, an young woman who hails from Ireland. Lynda found an old photo in her grandmother's attic. At first glance, it's a normal-looking group photo - but there is one disturbing detail. The photo, taken way back in 1900, shows 13 women, side by side. Work colleagues at the same linen factory in Belfast, the subjects in this photo are all posing with their arms folded in front of them. And it's here that the disquietening anomaly can be detected.

The photo - ever since it was first published - has gone viral around the world. And it seems nobody has an explaination for the disturbing anomaly. Have you spotted it? Look again..

And here is what we are talking about. If you look closely at the right side of the photo, where the last girl is at the bottom right (Ellen Donnelly), we can see a disembodied hand resting on her shoulder. But from where? All the women have their arms folded, so it is not clear where this hand could have "sprouted" from.

A disturbing detail, especially if you consider that Ellen Donnelly is Lynda's grandmother, and had a history of ghostly encounters.

Over a century later and still this mystery has not been solved. What explanation would you give to "rationally" explain it?
