Grandparents are very important figures in the lives of their grandchildren and, as we often hear, they are also the ones who would do anything for their little grandchildren. Sometimes, grandparents almost "forget" about their own children because they are too busy caring for their grandchildren. In any case, it's always emotional when a child comes into the world, but it's even more so when a 90-year-old grandfather is involved in the event. Today's story is about this.

Ashley Lemieux shared a very special moment in her family's life on her Instagram page: the day her 90-year-old grandfather held his grandchild for the first time, born just a few months ago. The scene was very tender and significant: not only because grandfather and grandaughter were seeing each other for the first time, but also because of other factors that made the event even more unforgettable. Ahsley, in fact, said that his grandfather had recently suffered the loss of his wife, the love of his life. As is understandable, a man who loses his better half at this age will be racked with grief.

Ashley wanted to pay homage to her grandmother by naming her baby Annie Rae, after her grandmother. Her grandfather, who flew in from Wisconsin just to meet his granddaughter, had a very emotional reaction when he first picked up Annie in his arms.

His reaction was filmed and appreciated by many Instagram users. Ashley explained that her grandfather was also very emotional because of her baby's name: "He loved my grandmother so much, and he's not usually an emotional person. But giving her Annie's name meant a lot to him".

The scene is very emotional and it is impossible not to be moved by the scene of two generations meeting in this tender encounter!
