This is the incredible story of two sisters who, in 1999, decided to get an old art nouveau lamp evaluated. The lamp had  belonged to the sisters now deceased mother and had great sentimental value to her when she was alive. The two sisters told an expert evaluator that the deceased mother bought the old bedside lamp for just $ 125 after finding it in an ad in an old newspaper. The sisters told the evaluator that the mother had been convinced by the seller that the lamp had belonged to the seller's grandfather, but that he now wanted to get rid of it. And although their mother had only paid $ 125 for the beautiful antique, she knew in her heart that it could be worth much, much more. Despite knowing this, she had never said anything to her family, much less to her two daughters.

So, when the two sisters went to the expert evaluator, they made a shocking discovery: the antique dealer confirmed to them that the lamp was produced by the Tiffany Studios. This was the same company owned and operated by Louis Comfort Tiffany - son of the founder of Tiffany and Co. In short, it seemed that the two sisters had an object of great value to the antiques market on their hands .

After an thorough review, the expert told the two women that that art nouveau lamp was made in about 1905. Even at that time, the lamp was highly sought after and could be sold on the market for as much as $ 200 - a huge amount in the early 1900's. And the current evaluation revealed to the two sisters that the lamp their mother had loved for years was now worth $ 80,000 to $ 125,000!

The two sisters burst into tears of joy when they discovered the unexpected high value of their lamp, as you can see in the video above. And how would you have reacted to such news? Do you have any old antique items that you think might be worth a small fortune?
