Be very, very careful when unknown people approach you and ask you inappropriate questions or make ambiguous proposals, especially if you are a woman and you are walking alone; harassment, or even the danger of kidnapping are just around the corner, and there are many less obvious signs to consider whether an individual could be there to do something terrible; even a bottle of water left on the hood of a car could be sign that something untoward is going on.

A signal that was not initially picked up by the woman in this strange story; the American girl is called Haley West, and in a video she posted on TikTok, she recounted her disturbing experience with an unknown individual who was probably trying to harass or even kidnap her: "A man was walking next to me, but I didn't notice him. But I could feel him looking at me as he walked. Then he called me, asking me my name but I just ignored him. Then I kept walking and he kept following me."

The girl then said that the man asked her this question: "Come and see my car, it's beautiful and it's a Lexus. Do you like it?", realizing that that car was Haley's: the man knew that it was her's from the beginning. Realizing the danger of the situation, she ran away, she hid herself in a shop and waited for the man to leave. When he was gone, she went back to her car and noticed a strange detail: on the hood there was a bottle of water...

The girl, visibly frightened, asked for advice and explanations on TikTok, to understand if other women had also had a similar experience. Eventually, the mystery of the water bottle was solved by a Tiktoker named Elle, who told Haley: "This is a tactic used by traffickers and kidnappers to get you out of your vehicle and remove the thing sitting on your car. If that happens and something is on the hood of your vehicle when you get back, leave it where it is. Drive off and it will fall off by itself!"

A warning that fortunately has been seen by thousands of viewers on the web thanks to the Haley's testimony. If next time you see a suspicious bottle of water on the hood of your car, don't think too long: get in your car, and ignore it, and if you have experienced harassment or nuisance from strange people, go to the first station police to report!
