There is news that pulls at the heart strings and makes us doubt justice in this world. It always happens when we read about children affected by diseases who are fighting battles bigger than themselves.

Maxik is a 2 year old boy from the Czech Republic. Doctors diagnosed him with spinal muscular atrophy, a degenerative disease. The news that now gives hope for this sweet boy is that he has managed to be given a very expensive drug, according to some sources, one of the most expensive in the world.

Maxik suffers from spinal muscular atrophy, a degenerative disease that causes progressive weakness in the muscles, leading to impaired vital functions such as swallowing and breathing. Maxik, however, is also the first Czech child to have taken Zolgensma, a drug that could be fundamental in the treatment of muscle atrophy, but which is also among the most expensive drugs in the world: $ 2.15 million per dose.

Maxik's parents managed to gather the necessary amount and even more thanks to a public collection: nobody in fact has managed to remain indifferent to the story of the child. Eventually, however, the drug was covered by health insurance.

The child's family keeps the Facebook page dedicated to Maxik updated, which is where they shared the news of the first dose of the drug for which they wanted to thank all the doctors and nurses who are taking care of their little boy. Now let's hope this drug helps Maxik live.

Come on Maxik, we're all cheering for you!
