The little girl with a tumor greeting her dad from the window symbolizes the importance of isolation against Covid
An image that speaks a thousand words. It is of a 4 year old girl who sends a kiss to her dad from behind the glass of a window, because she cannot hug him in person. The reason? She has a tumor and is undergoing chemotherapy at a particular time when the world is in isolation from Coronavirus. A photo that symbolizes the importance of "staying at home" - a phrase and a concept that we have largely abused by now, but that we will never tire of reiterating - especially for those people with a weaker immune system, who, therefore, are more at risk.
The father of little Mila Sneddon, 4 years old, does a job that brings him in contact with many people. Ever since Coronavirus broke out, Mila's parents have decided to protect their daughter by going to live in separate houses. A difficult but correct choice, after they discovered in November 2019 that Mila had a tumor.
For the moment, father and daughter can see each other from the window or via the screen of a mobile phone, on video call.
The two photos were published on Facebook by Mila's mother and received a lot of comments and appreciation. At the beginning, little Mila did not understand why she couldn't see her father in person, but her mother managed to explain the seriousness of the situation in the world and, for now, the girl is satisfied with those video calls and some greetings from the window. "I hope our story helps people to understand the importance of staying at home - explained Lynda -: unfortunately there are many vulnerable people like Mila who are risking their lives". We hope that this situation improves, both for little Mila and for the whole world.
