Regardless of age, many people suffer from musculoskeletal system disorders (MSD). The reason lies in one's lifestyle and work habits that can lead to bad posture.

Many people are also completely unaware that most of the shoulder, neck, and back pains originate in the feet. In fact, acupuncture and reflexology use the stimulation of dominate meridians (pressure points) on the feet to relieve pain and discomfort.

Here are five simple exercises that you can do at home.

Walking. In this case, you have to walk on tiptoe for about 20 seconds, rest for another 15 and repeat this exercise at least 5 times.

Rotating the ankles. The starting position is from lying down with your back on the floor. Then raise one leg making 10 circular motions with your ankle to the left and then to the right. Repeat with the other leg.

Flexural strength. Sit on the floor, with one leg is raised, keeping the knee slightly flexed. This exercise involves the use of an elastic band positioned on the sole of the foot, just under the toes. Hold the band with both hands, bring the leg back to the initial position and repeat 5 times for 10 sets.

  • Pressure on the toes. From a standing position, bend the knees slightly and move the toes of the feet as if trying to grab the floor. The gesture should be repeated at intervals of about 3 seconds with a series of 10 repetitions at least 3 times during the day.
  • Picking up a pen. With bare feet, place a pen or pencil on the floor and try to pick it up using your toes. Once grasped, the position is maintained for about ten seconds and then released. Alternating each foot, repeat the gesture 5 times at least 3 times during the day.

Although these are gentle exercises and within everyone's reach, it is always better to ask your doctor for advice before starting any type of physical activity or training.

In the absence of any particular contraindications or precautions, this routine can easily be incorporated into daily practice. The result is being able to count on a simple and fast remedy to relieve the pain and tension of every day while also improving your posture when stationary and in motion.

This is due to the fact that most of the problems concerning body misalignment start from the base, that is to say from the feet and ankles.
