Life is very often absolutely unpredictable.

There are situations in which everything seems to be going in the right direction and then suddenly everything collapses, or vice versa, circumstances that suggest that everything is lost and instead one bounces back stronger than ever!

Many believe, it is also a matter of luck, of being in the right place at the right time, but also of courage and tenacity, as Drew Goodall has amply shown, with his journey to hell and back!

When he was 20 years old, Drew had started his acting career, taking part in successful films with famous actors such as Hugh Grant.

Despite his promising start, the situation went downhill and was worsened by bad experiences and bad investments that quickly led him to lose a lot of money.

Returning to live with his parents would have meant admitting his failure so he decided not to give up. Unfortunately, his pride led him to be evicted from his house and he had to live on the street for about six months.

This period was very hard, with his days spent begging for food, drinking heavily, and dealing with all the daily difficulties that being homeless entails.

Then one day, he decided to polish the shoes of passers-by just to earn some money, counting on the number of Londoners who go to work every day.

A few months later, one of his most frequent customers opened his own store near the tube (subway) entrance where Drew worked and decided to hire him.

This opportunity allowed Drew to recover economically and also to get enough experience to become an entrepreneur and open his own business.

Today, that small business project has become Sunshine Shoeshine, a shoeshine service company where Drew has hired dozens of homeless people.

As a successful manager, he now earns about $300,000 USD a year and dedicates his life to giving an opportunity to those who are less fortunate.

Drew is a living example of how one can rise like a Phoenix from one's ashes, but also how one can contribute to making the world better when one has the possibilities.

What he experienced marked him forever and he decided to do his part to help as many people as possible get out of the same condition that he has also personally experienced.
