An amazing flexible sword used in combat in India!

Whips can be deadly weapons, just ask Indiana Jones! In the past, whips were used to mete out punishment in an extremely painful way and they were made mostly from braided leather.

However, in a region in southern India, they use what is called a "urumi", which consists of a robust sword handle that encloses strips of whip-like steel that are very thin and flexible. The sides of the strips are very sharp and can mortally wound a person with one just one blow!
