In some areas of Romania, it is common practice to "hobble" or tie the legs of horses to prevent them from escaping. Can you imagine the anguish of not being able to run, and the physical pain of the wounds caused by the tight metal chains that dig into the flesh of a horse's forelegs?

Fortunately, there is a non-profit animal welfare organization, Four Paws, that bravely fights against this horrendous practice. Here in this video, we see a Four Paws volunteer vet mercifully approach and free a hobbled horse, that is still in chains, despite having been able to escape from its captors.
