  • Hydrocyanic acid: Considered to be a chemical asphyxiant, it can prevent oxygen from reaching the body tissues; it can poison our cardiovascular and respiratory systems, compromising the normal functions of the brain, sight, and metabolism. 
  • Ammonia: Used in most cases in the home and industrial sectors, ammonia, if inhaled, can be corrosive to the respiratory pathways; it can also degenerate the olfactory pathways, cause chest pain, coughing, and burning in the nose or throat. 
  • Formaldehyde: A colorless and flammable chemical, among its short-term effects are included watering eyes, burning throat, and shortness of breath. Among the long term effects, there is, unfortunately, a greater probability of the onset of cancerous pathologies in the throat and nose.

  • Potassium citrate: Although in controlled doses it is used to free the kidneys from harmful amounts of excessive urine, potassium citrate can, however, cause nausea and stomach pain, muscle weakness, dizziness, and rapid heartbeat.
