To invite motorists to reduce their speed in some particularly dangerous sections of roads, the road traffic authorities adopt various solutions, although most are not well seen by drivers.

On the famous Route 66 in New Mexico, instead of installing speed bumps or hidden cameras, the road traffic authorities came up with the clever idea of entertaining motorists.

The idea consisted of creating small cracks of different depths and lengths on the surface of the road so that when these are struck by the car tires, depending on the speed and pressure, a melody is played . . . which is audible only to those who travel below 70 kph (45 mph)!
