Sleeping well is important. If you suffer from insomnia or wake up tired and nervous, it is usually attributed to the stress of everyday life or a too few hours of total sleep.

If these are certainly important factors that should be kept under control, chiropractors never stop trying to call our attention to correct posture to be taken while we sleep.

It seems that sleeping on the right side is very much discouraged. Sleeping on the left side, however, brings many benefits. Here are four.

1. Relieves heartburn

If you eat too much at dinner, or food that is difficult to digest, maybe after an evening with friends, falling asleep can be difficult. Lying on the left side of your body, facilitates digestion and relieves stomach heaviness and bloating.

2. Snoring

In addition to disturbing those who sleep with us, snoring is also harmful to our own health. It seems that sleeping on the left side reduces the chances of snoring.

3. Supports the lymphatic system

The lymphatic system plays a fundamental role in the health of our body. The sleeping position on the left side stimulates the filtration of toxins and lymphatic fluid, so as to avoid future problems.

4. It's good for the heart

Even the heart benefits from sleeping in this position. According to Dr. John Douillard, it has to do with gravity that helps the lymphatic system and saves the heart a lot of work during the night.
