You are not the only one to take advantage of the night to fully charge your smartphone battery. The problem is that many lay the device on a pillow, or in general on the bed. This situation is very dangerous because during the recharging phase the battery can undergo a significant increase in temperature, which can cause a fire to ignite. This is not just a remote possibility, in fact, the photos that you see are only a few among thousands!

The fire department itself writes: "Research has revealed that 53% of children / teenagers recharge their smartphone at night while keeping it on the bed or under a pillow. This bad habit does not allow the excess heat that is generated during recharging to disperse and thus the heat accumulates in and around the smartphone, causing its temperature to increase significantly.

The result may be that the sheets or cushion can catch on fire exposing children, or any other person at home, to a great risk. Therefore, please, always check and see how your loved ones are recharging their smartphone."

Only the original cables or cables that are compatible with the smartphone's technical specifications should be purchased. In fact, the Fire Department has decided to publish some tips to help users avoid situations can easily turn into tragedies.

  • While charging, place the smartphone on a flat, hard surface
  • To prevent the device from overheating, do not use it while it is recharging
  • Do not leave the smartphone on a bed or sofa
  • Replace all damaged or malfunctioning items: Batteries, cables ...

We all use technology nowadays, but we do not always use it in the safest way! Remember ---not leaving your smartphone on a bed or not putting it under a pillow when it is recharging is a decision that could save your life!
